How to set up your own custom roles for users in your organization

Fiverr Enterprise has three roles built in to the platform: company admin, workspace admin, and member. Each of these roles has its own set of permissions. However, some people in your organization might not fit neatly into these roles. In this case, company and workspace admins can create custom roles, each with their own set of permissions across different areas of the platform.

Here are some examples of people in an organization for whom you could create a custom role:

  • A company admin responsible for finance, who should only have access to the PO, Funding, and Billing pages

  • A company admin responsible for legal documents and setup only

  • A workspace admin responsible for operations, such as workflows, integrations, and custom fields only

A custom role can be created when adding a new user or editing the role of an existing user. There are two ways to add users to your account:

  • Go to the bottom of the left panel and click Invite user.

  • Go to the Settings tab, click Users & workspaces, and then click Invite user in the top-right corner.

In both cases, a window will open and you’ll be asked to enter the user’s details. Click on Add custom role above the Role dropdown.

You’ll be taken to a page where you can select the specific permissions for your new custom role.

First, at the top of the page, choose the type of role:

  1. A company role has permissions across the entire company

  2. A workspace role has permissions within a specific workspace

Then select the specific permissions (View-only or Edit) for each area of the platform. If neither is selected, this area will be hidden from the user. You can hover over the icon next to the different Edit options to see what’s included in each permission.

Once the user is added, they will appear in the Users table in Users & workspaces.

To change the permissions of an existing user, go to Users & workspaces, click on the three-dot menu next to the user’s name, and select Change role.
