A time report lets you track the number of hours and dates you work on a milestone. They can be submitted on a daily or weekly basis, or when requesting payment.

Time reports can be used for jobs with all the different rate types: hourly, fixed, or custom, and can be submitted by both you or your hiring managers (or someone from their organization).

There are two ways to add a time report to a milestone:

  • Go to a milestone and click on the clock icon on the bottom right.

  • When requesting or submitting payment, select Add time report.

A time report can be edited up until payment is requested, while the milestone status is still Request payment.

If a time report is added for an hourly job, then the total hours from the time report are automatically filled in on the Request payment page. The hours field is disabled, and the hours can only be edited from the time report form.

Filling out the time report

The information on a time report can be entered manually or copied and pasted from a similar table.

The Date and Hours worked fields are required, while Comments are optional. The date can be entered in any format and it will be automatically changed to the platform’s format (Mon DD YYYY). If the information entered is not a date, it will not be saved and this field will be left blank.

You can only enter actual hours worked for a date in the past or the current date, and not expected hours for a future date.
