Keep track of your talents’ work hours

A time report lets you track the hours and dates your talents work on a milestone. They can be submitted on a daily or weekly basis, or when requesting payment.

Time reports can be used for jobs with all the different rate types: hourly, fixed, or custom, and can be submitted by both hiring managers (or someone from the organization) and talents.

There are two ways to add a time report to a milestone:

  • Go to a milestone and click on the clock icon on the bottom right.

  • When requesting or submitting payment, select Add time report.

A time report can be edited up until payment is requested, while the milestone status is still Active.

If a time report is added for an hourly job, then the total hours from the time report are automatically filled in on the Request payment page. The hours field is disabled, and the hours can only be edited from the time report form.

Filling out the time report

The information on a time report can be entered manually or copied and pasted from a similar table. The Date and Hours worked fields are required, while Comments are optional. The date can be entered in any format and it will be automatically changed to the platform’s format (Mon DD YYYY). If the information entered is not a date, it will not be saved and this field will be left blank. You can only enter actual hours worked for a date in the past or the current date, and not expected hours for a future date.

The report can be saved once there’s at least one entry that includes date and hours. When you open the report again after saving, the rows will be organized chronologically.

After saving the report, the total hours and number of sessions for the report will appear when you hover over the clock icon on the milestone.

Reporting

A new Time report column shows the total number of hours and sessions per milestone. To see this column in the table, go to the settings (gear) icon at the top right of the table and select it.

When a report is exported with the new column selected, the single column expands into 3 columns:

  1. Time report date

  2. Time reported (hours)

  3. Time report comments

If you want to see your monthly time reports at a glance, a predefined report called Monthly time report is ready for you to use. It appears under the Added by Fiver Enterprise section of the Saved reports dropdown.
