Jobs are any work or project that you need done and for which you are hiring freelance talent or a company. Jobs can be ongoing or one-time.

Each job consists of milestones. Milestones are a way to break up your project into deliverables or payments. They help you track your talents’ work and progress, as well as plan your budget and understand your spending. Milestones are a combination of:

  • Engagement type (hourly or fixed, whether set per project or retainer, for example)

  • Rate

  • Timeframe (e.g., hourly, weekly, etc., along with the number of milestones you have planned – e.g., 6 months of work, etc.)

The Jobs page

The Jobs page is where you’ll find all your jobs, including active jobs, drafted jobs, and posted jobs for which our team is sourcing talent. Members see all their jobs, workspace admins see all the jobs for their workspace, and company admins see all the jobs for their company.

Use the predefined tabs along the top and the dropdown menus to filter jobs based on a variety of criteria. Switch between the table view and card view to view the jobs in a table or as individual cards. Then click on an individual job to view its details. To edit, delete, or move a job to a different workspace (if you are a company admin), click the three dots (on the right if you’re in table view or in the top-right corner if you’re in card view) to open the menu of options.

Getting started with jobs

To get started with jobs, click the button in the top right. You’ll then have the option to either:

  • Assign a job (start a job) to an existing talent

  • Source talent (post a job) to get help finding a talent through our sourcing team

Whether you’re assigning a job or sourcing talent, you’ll be asked to provide some details including a job title, a brief description, a start date, and more. When assigning a job, you’ll also be asked to enter the rate and timeline, so that the platform can set up milestones for you (this is optional when sourcing talent).
